Local stud receiver decided to pledge to Vanderbilt

Brentwood Academy (TN) 4-star receiver Camron Johnson has long been the top offensive target for Vanderbilt and today they received some early Christmas news as the local star decided to commit to the Commodores.

Vanderbilt made Brentwood Academy (TN) WR Camron Johnson their top offensive target from the moment head coach Derek Mason knew about the local star.

All the hard work and effort put into the recruiting of Johnson paid off big today as the 4-star recruit officially gave his commitment to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Johnson is a two way standout for his Brentwood Academy team who's future appears set for offense. He is a dynamic receiver who has game changing abilities in the open field. Johnson is a game changer type talent that the Commodores have desperately been needing on offense.

The Commodores put in a lot of effort with Johnson and sold him on the idea of blazing his own trail while doing so in his home town. Vanderbilt is also losing several seniors from the receiving corps after this season, so the opportunity for playing time and a starting role is there for the taking.

Besides being a star on the football field, Johnson is also a state champ on the basketball court. He along with fellow Eagles star, tight end Gavin Schoenwald are teammates on the hardwood and now future teammates in black and gold.

Johnson ended up choosing the Commodores over offers from Auburn, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Ole Miss, Purdue, Tennessee and interest from several others.
