Pete's Pigskin Prognostications- Week 6

Yet another week with two missed picks. This is getting to be a trend. there are only 4 SEC games this week, and looking at them, I see the potential to be 2-2 or worse.

Ole Miss @ Florida – Well, at least one of the picks is relatively easy. Ole Miss is not a very good team, and Florida should have no trouble handling the Rebels. Florida by 20,

Alabama @ Georgia – Georgia is playing as well as anybody in the SEC right now, and ‘Bama has got to be suicidal after their loss to Arkansas last week. I just don't see how they can bounce back. Georgia by 10.

UTK @ Auburn – The Tigers have only been able to beat the weak teams. They've lost woefully to the good teams on their schedule. Hence, I'm picking the big orange to barely edge the War Eagles, 21-17.

Vanderbilt @ Mississippi State – This is, I think, the most interesting game on the schedule this week. Not exactly the clash of the titans, but two teams desperate for a win. The line on this game opened at MSU by 7.5 on Monday, and by Thursday it has been bet down to MSU by 4.5. A lot of money is coming in on Vandy. I'd like to think VU will win this game, considering the distractions and general bad karma (as well as bad play) that is going on in Starksville. However, history has shown that whenever this scenario has confronted the Commodores, they have collapsed like a house of cards in a hurricane. I see no reason to pick differently until Vandy can demonstrate that the "Same Old Vandy" isn't. Mississippi State 35, Vandy 21. Top Stories
