Commodore baseball fans can get a first look at Tim Corbin's team, as the baseball team hosts the Black and Gold Fall Series, a series of intra-squad games that wraps up fall practice. The games are set for 6 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m Sunday, and 6 p.m. Monday at Charles Hawkins Field.
Former Vanderbilt student-athletes are invited to a cocktail reception Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Marriott at Vanderbilt. The cost is $20 per person, which includes cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres.
The annual student Homecoming Parade takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. along streets of the Vanderbilt campus.
Commodore Quake, a pep rally featuring cheerleaders, the Spirit of Gold Band, and popular R&B artist Busta Rhymes, happens Friday night from 9:00-12:00 in Memorial Gym. For tickets and information, contact the Office of Student Activities at (615) 322-2471.
Commodore fans and alumni are invited to an Athletic Department seminar Saturday morning titled "Vanderbilt Athletics 2003-04 - Are Championships a Reality?" A panel of student-athletes, coaches and administrators will discuss the topic from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Sarratt Cinema in the Sarratt Student Center.
Also on Saturday morning, the Nashville Vanderbilt Club hosts a festive pre-game tailgate at Alumni Lawn from 9:30-11:30 a.m. All Commodore fans are welcome.
The Spirit of Gold Band invites all Commodore fans to be present to cheer on the football team, as the Vanderbilt players and coaches cross Jess Neely Drive from McGugin Center to Vanderbilt Stadium approximately one hour before kickoff.
