Vanderbilt commitment discusses decision

Josh Allen committed to Vanderbilt last Friday. The talented all-purpose athlete from Roswell, Ga. talks about his decision to choose Vanderbilt.

Roswell, GA prosect Josh Allen has committed to play for the Vanderbilt Commodores. We caught up with the standout corner to tell us why he chose to spend his next four years in Nashville.

"It came down to Navy, Vanderbilt, and Duke. Vandy is just a great school. It's in the SEC, and the school is second to none."

"Playing SEC competition and getting a great education really excites me. When you get an offer from a place as highly thought of as Vanderbilt, it's really hard to pass that up."

Allen visited the campus for the Georgia game, and that sealed the deal.

"I took my official visit a few weeks ago, and I just really like where the program is headed. Bobby Johnson is a great Christian man, and I love what he has done so far."

Another factor in Allen's decision was the fellow commitment of his friend, Bryant Anderson.

"I went up there for a camp with Bryant and we both talked about how great it was then. We've been friends since we were little, and I'm excited that we get to play on the same team now."

While they will be teammates next year at Vandy, this week is all business for Anderson and Allen. Bryant's 8-1 Centennial Knights square off against Josh's 5-4 Roswell Hornets, and the Hornets need this game to make the GA Class-AAAAA playoffs. Top Stories
