The highly sought 6-4, 280-pound Mr. Football award winner from Fayetteville had made a short-lived pledge to Vandy back during the football season, but had withdrawn the commitment and pledged to Ole Miss after a January official visit there.
Divens joins his teammate and fellow DT Theo Horrocks, who committed to the Commodores last week.
"Ole Miss wanted me to play offensive line," Divens told the Tennessean. "I'm just not an offensive lineman. I like the contact on defense."
Divens is the seventh defensive lineman prospect to make a verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.
Verbal commitments are not binding. National signing day is Feb. 4. For a complete current list of Vanderbilt commitments for the class of 2004, click here.
