Strengths: Quarterback, offensive line.
Weaknesses: Linebacker, overall depth.
Key Game: Sept 15, at Florida. We don't need to explain this one!
Coach Fulmer says: "One of our concerns is our receivers being able do what they need to do. We need a guy you can throw a flat pass to who can break tackles and score a touchdown. Peerless Price made plays and made people miss, and that needs to happen. Tailback is a concern not with the starter, but depth situation. Depth on our offensive team is a concern. It hasn't developed. We also have to get that other safety position settled."
Overall projection: The Vols should be stronger in 2001 but they won't overtake the Gators as top program in the SEC. The Vols will have to settle for second and should win eight to ten games.
