Wayne Pass is an offensive guard from Cullman High School in Alabama, and he is beginning to get a lot of interest.
"I have received letters from just about every SEC school, Southern Miss, Princeton and Harvard. The college that has shown the most interest is
Vanderbilt," said Pass.
Pass, playing on the offensive line with one of the best players in the state (Justin Britt), also earned some honors for his junior year. "I was All-Area and
All-County Honorable Mention," added Pass.
Pass is wide open and said, "Anyone who has sent me a letter, I am
considering. I'm open to whoever wants to talk to me. I don't mind going
out-of-state or staying in-state."
Pass attended several out-of-state spring games including Duke, Georgia Tech,
Vanderbilt and Florida.
"Duke was a really great place. They only invited 30-40 players. I
really like their football program, and it is a really nice school. I spoke with
the Recruiting Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. The offensive line coach
was a really nice guy," Pass replied.
Pass also took a road trip to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech and said,
"At Georgia Tech, they seemed to want guys who wanted to win. I will
definitely be looking at them when I start to narrow down my choices. The
offensive line coach was straight up and the nicest coach there. He made sure to
speak to everyone. He was really friendly."
Currently, Vanderbilt is showing the most interest and therefore Pass tripped
to Nashville for the Commodores' spring game. "Vanderbilt is a really nice
school. I love the campus. Coach Cardwell seemed really enthusiastic when he was
talking to me. He has sent me a few letters in the mail," Pass stated.
Gainesville was another trip Pass took this spring to see Florida's Orange
and Blue game. Pass said, "I spoke with the offensive line coach who is
also the recruiting coordinator. He talked to me about guys from Cullman who
have come to Florida to play. He also told me, he is going to come to one of my
practices. Florida seems like a lot of fun. The
living quarters were amazing. They have a good tradition of winning. The stadium
was really packed for their orange and Blue game. They had a lot of big
This summer, Pass plans to make his rounds to different camps. "I'm
going to Vanderbilt. I'm not sure about the Duke camp. I will try to go to
Florida and Georgia Tech. Anyone else who invites me to their camp, I will try
to fit them into my schedule," Pass added.
In an earlier interview with Justin Britt, (teammate of Pass), Britt said,
"Wayne is a really good guy. He is a big guy and he is really smart. At
practice, he was always the toughest guy for me to go up against."
Pass' father attended the University of Alabama and Pass' sister was
accepted to West Point.
Spring training starts this week for Cullman High School.
