Schools are recruiting Renfro as both a running back and strong safety. Does he have a preference on which side of the ball he plays on? "No, I really don't have a preference," said Renfro.
The Southwestern Pulaski County star already has received offers from Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, UT-Martin, Eastern Illinois, and Southern Illinois, and continues to draw interest from some of the top schools in the nation.
Besides the mail and phone calls, Renfro has had numerous visitors to his high school. "Louisville, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, and Western Kentucky have all visited my school."
During his spring break, Renfro went on a tour of the country to check out different schools. "I visited South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Ball State," said Renfro.
After that extensive road trip this past spring, it looks like he'll have a busy summer, as well. "I plan on attending summer camps at South Carolina, Northwestern, Miami (Ohio), Iowa, and Oklahoma. There might be a few more, but those are the ones that I know for sure of."
When does Renfro plan on making a decision? "I'm not in that big of hurry right now. Then again, it all depends on who offers and when."
What are his important factors in choosing a school? "Academics are the most important. I plan on going to medical school, so that will be real important. The coaching staff will also be important."
Would distance be problem? "No, that won't be a problem at all," said Renfro.
We asked what schools interest Renfro the most. "Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Cincinnati, and Iowa are the schools that I have the most interest in right now."
Do his parents have a preference on where he'll go to school? "No, not really. They'll follow my career wherever I go."
Renfro has a self reported 3.8 GPA and scored a 23 on the ACT.
