NFL Scouting Report: Jovan Haye

NFLExperts.com has provided VandyMania this exclusive scouting report on Vanderbilt junior defensive end Jovan Haye.

Scouting Report:  Jovan Haye  School:  Vanderbilt

Ht:  6-2  Wt:  270  40:  4.85

The Good: Athletic lineman and disruptive pass rushing force.  Plays with excellent leverage, forceful up the field yet also makes plays laterally up and down the line of scrimmage.  Disciplined, displays a good head for the ball and always working to get involved.  Consistently focused on by opponents and gets his hands up to bat away throws.  Slides off blocks laterally, redirects to the action and makes a lot of athletic plays.

The Bad: Lacks top explosion and speed.  Not strong at the point, handled in one-on-one blocking situations and has difficulty defending the run.

The Skinny: Hard working in all aspects, Haye is a solid collegiate defender with a good amount of upside the next level.  Must get stronger and add bulk to his frame yet his ability to be a disruptive force in the opponents backfield gives him a first day grade moving towards the 2006 draft.
