Commodores upset in Oxford, 66-60

It was the first Ole Miss (12-5, 2-2 SEC) win in the last 12 meetings between the teams.

Ashley Earley scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Commodores (13-4, 2-2 SEC). Carla Thomas added 16 points.

Vanderbilt shot a 54.8 percent in the second half and finished the game shooting 43.6 percent. The Commodores out-rebounded the Lady Rebels, 37-33. Ole Miss finished the game shooting 39.7 percent and only shot 33.3 percent in the second half. The Commodores had a season-high 21 turnovers in the game but only committed six in the second half.

The Commodores overcame a 19-point deficit in the second stanza and cut the lead to 55-51 after two free throws from Ashley Earley with 1:55 left, but Ole Miss made eight free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

Vanderbilt started a come-back in the second half after trailing 48-29 with 13:14 left. VU used an 11-4 run to cut its deficit to 52-40 on two free throws from Katie Antony. A three-pointer from Caroline Williams and lay-ups from Earley and Antony got the Commodores within, 53-47 with 4:46 left.

Ole Miss forced Vanderbilt into 14 first half turnovers and the Commodores shot a woeful 29.2 percent as the Lady Rebels led 33-18. Vanderbilt was held scoreless the last 7:39 in the first half. Ole Miss closed the half on an 11-0 run and shot 45.2 percent in the first half.

After Earley scored the game's first basket, Ole Miss rattled used a 10-2 run to ahead, 10-4 with 17:18 left on a lay-up from Carletta Brown. Ole Miss led 14-10 after two free throws from Price. Two lay-ups from Earley got the Commodores within, 18-16 with 10:21 left, but Ole Miss rattled off a 15-2 to close out the half.

Price scored 11 points in the first half.
