Baseball: Vanderbilt tries to avoid sweep

Vanderbilt lost it's first two games at Louisville and will start frosh Jeremy Sowers in a effort to avoid being swept by the Cardinals in Louisville.

With the game tied 3-3 in the seventh inning Saturday, the Louisville Cardinals scored 9 runs to defeat Vanderbilt 12-3 in the second game of the series.  Sean Luellwitz had a three run homer for the 'Dores in the fifth.   Vanderbilt falls to 4-2 on the young season.  

The Commodores lost the first game of the series to the Cards 6-1 on Friday. 

Vanderbilt will debut it's heralded freshmen pitcher Jeremy Sowers, a Louisville-Ballard product, on the mound for the final game of the series on Sunday at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville. The Vanderbilt fans home on the web. Top Stories
