Scouting Report: VU visits upset minded UK

The Vanderbilt Commodores (30-17, 11-13 SEC) travel to Kentucky (26-22, 6-17 SEC) for a crucial three game SEC series this weekend. Last weekend Vanderbilt dropped 2 of 3 at Georgia and the Wildcats dropped 2 of 3 at LSU.

Kentucky Hitting- Kentucky has the worst record in the SEC but Vanderbilt may learn a thing or two from the Wildcats as far as offense is concerned. Kentucky is second in the SEC in on base percentage with .403 average and first in triples with 16 (Vandy has 8). The Wildcats also lead the conference in walks with 230 (VU is last with 147). UK has the dubious honor of leading the SEC in strikeouts with 350. John Shelby (.351) is the Wildcats long ball hitter with 10 homeruns. Shaun Lehmann sports a .352 average and 5 homeruns.
