Vanderbilt shuts out Ohio, 3-0

Ty Davis went 8.0 innings and allowed only two hits in his first career start defeating the Ohio Bobcats 3-0. Ryan Rote earned his eighth save of the season pitching the final inning.

The Commodores took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning when Brian Hernandez hit a two-out RBI single through the left side scoring Alex Feinberg. Feinberg led off the fifth inning with a single to shallow left field and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt down the first base line by Antoan Richardson. He advanced to third when Mike Baxter grounded out deep to first base.

VU added two more runs in the seventh inning when with two away, Warner Jones hit a single to right center field scoring Carter Hawkins and Alex Feinberg for a 3-0 Commodore lead.
