REMARKS: Ole Miss ditched head coach David Cutcliff, who had led the Rebs to new waters, for hot-shot USC assistant Ed Orgeron. The Rebels clock had struck mid night after the departure of star quarterback Eli Manning following the 2003 season. The 2005 version of Ole Miss will feature highly touted frosh running back Jamal Pittman and quarterback Ethan Flatt, a product of the Nashville area. Michael Spurlock could unseat Flatt as top signal caller in '05.

EARLY PREDICTION: Seems like the Ole Miss game is always so critical to Vanderbilt's successful season hopes. This one is no different. In the past Vandy has come away heart broken after late game collapses. Vandy ends that in 2005. Vanderbilt will control this game through all four quarters and give Orgeron a very rude welcome to the SEC.

Ole Miss 17

Ole Miss quarterback Ethan Flatt passed for 1,530 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2004 but will have to fight for playing time in '05.
