Comments from new commit Patrick Benoist

Vanderbilt got a big boost to its recruiting efforts on Monday when a highly regarded prep linebacker Patrick Benoist committed to the Vanderbilt coaches. Read on about why this outstanding player picked Vandy and some of his exploits on the field as a junior in high school.

When asked why he chose Vanderbilt over considerable interest from Stanford the Texan indicated that he just felt more comfortable at the Nashville school, "When I went up there to the camp at the beginning of June they offered me, I had a lot of fun, not just because they offered me but everything felt right up there. I talked to my family about it and they all felt like it was a good fit for me and I felt the same way. "

Benoist, (pronounced "Ben-wah") who had 126 tackles, 13 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions was recruited by Vanderbilt coach Warren Belin. "That worked out really well for me because he recruited me and he's going to be my coach so that'll be pretty cool."
