Skuchas selected for U.S. All-star team

Vanderbilt basketball signee Ted Skuchas of Fort Washington, Pa., has been named to a United States All-star team which will play the Capital All-Stars on April 11 at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.

Skuchas, a 6-foot-11, 240-pound center prospect from Germantown Academy, was named to the United States All-Star team along with teammate Lee Melchionni (a Duke signee). Others on the U. S. team include Oak Hill Academy guard Chadd Moore (Cincinnati), and Westchester (Los Angeles) center Brandon Bowman (Georgetown).

Skuchas' team will play against at team composed of Washington D.C.-area players, including Lee's Chris Goodin and Fairmont Heights' Chris McCray. The game is promoted by Sports America, Inc.

Skuchas has been ranked among the nation's top 10 prep centers by numerous recruiting services, including PowerBasketball.com, espn.com and cnnsi.com. He was one of four high school players signed by Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings in the November signing period.
