Geisinger, a mammoth offensive lineman, was a sixth-round choice of the Bills in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was one of only nine offensive linemen retained by Buffalo on the team's 53-man roster.
Haye, also a sixth-round draft pick as a defensive end, was retained by the Panthers to the surprise of many. The Panthers released 20 players Saturday and put three others on the injured reserve list to get down to the 53-man limit. Carolina kept only nine defensive linemen and cut loose defensive tackle Atiyyah Ellison of Missouri, a third-round pick.
Four other ex-Commodores made unsuccessful runs at making NFL rosters as undrafted free agents this summer: Matthew Tant (Chargers), Bill Alford (Ravens), Brandon Smith (Giants) and Dominique Morris (Buccaneers).
