Profile 2003 - Bo Hardegree (QB)

Bo Hardegree is a tall, rangy quarterback from Central-Merry High in School Jackson, TN that is the son of Head Coach Jim Hardegree. Hardegree put up good numbers as a junior and looks to expand on those as a senior. "We lost some starters on both lines," said Hardegree. "On the offensive and defensive lines we had some seniors that are going to graduate this year, but we had a lot of the younger guys come in and get some experience. We're returning our skill positions on both offense and defense, so we're going to be pretty good."

Hardegree is teammates with Daniel Brooks, and like Brooks, he's looking at some of the schools close to home right now. "I haven't really thought about it too much yet. Right now, I'm looking at the local schools like MTSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Memphis, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt. Some of the Ivy league schools are looking at me too."

A stand-out tennis player, Hardegree could play both sports at the D1 level, and said that his tennis background really helps him on the football field. "I run a 4.9 right now, which I'm working on to get better, but I had a real good shuttle time." All of the side to side motion in tennis is ideal for dodging would-be tacklers and impressing the guys with stop watches at the shuttle drills.

At 6'4 and 185 pounds, Hardegree still has plenty of room to grow, and it seems like the coaches' sons always turn out to be the standout QB's. Hardegree is no different.
