New Jersey DE likes Vanderbilt

A top New Jersey defensive end prospect made the long trip to visit Vanderbilt for the MTSU game. VandyMania spoke with him about his trip to Vanderbilt and his exploits on the field.

Brandon Glyck (6-4, 230) is a talented defensive end/ tight end prospect from St. Josephs high school in Montvale, N.J. Glyck is having a good season so far this year. The senior is averaging 7 tackles and 1 sack per game. At tight end he's scored one touchdown and a two-point conversion.

Glyck, who is being recruited by Vanderbilt's Charlie Fisher (running backs coach), has not received an offer from the Vanderbilt staff yet, but he has been asked to mail in a highlight video so the staff can further evaluate his capabilities. "I'll get it mailed next week," said Glyck.

Glyck had a great visit to Vanderbilt and came away impressed with the school and team. "It was awesome. That crowd was crazy. I really enjoyed the star walk. I got like 50-yard-line seats. I was pretty good," commented the Garden State native.

When asked what he liked about Vanderbilt in general Glyck replied, "I like the combination of good football and academics all in one."

Glyck has yet to pick up an offer but is hearing from the likes of Rutgers, Northwestern, Duke, Harvard and Yale in addition to the Commodore staff.
