Florida star considering Vandy

VandyMania has received word that a top Florida prep quarterback is being hotly pursued by the Commodore football staff.

Sources close to VandyMania have reported that Vanderbilt is hotly pursuing Albert Chester, a star quarterback who attends Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chester (6-0, 175) has passed for over 2,500 yards and rushed for over 1,500 yards during the past two seasons.

Albert recently attended the Nike Camp in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where he reportedly had an excellent performance.  Chester showed great quickness by completing the 20 yard shuttle run in just 4.23 seconds, third best in the camp.  He has been timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash.

The Florida Sports Writers Association named the fine quarterback to it's 2001 Honorable Mention All-State (2A) Team in January.
