VandyMania has learned that Matt Quinn, a talented wide receiver/ long snapper from Brynes High School in Duncan, S.C. is favoring Vanderbilt and plans to make a college choice within the next two weeks.

Quinn, who is being recruited by Vanderbilt quarterback coach Jimmy Kiser, has 65 catches for 550 yards and 12 touchdowns so far in his senior season despite having only limited experience at the position.

"I didn't start until about the sixth game (of his junior season). I was a backup quarterback before then and then they moved me to receiver. I played JV one week and then I got moved up to varsity. One of our starting receivers got hurt so they put me in and I've been starting every since." said the tall receiver. Quinn finished his junior season with 24 catches despite the limited playing time.

The towering pass catcher, who attended Vanderbilt's senior camp over the summer, is high on Vandy; "I'm strongly considering Vanderbilt . . . I like the atmosphere and the chance to play in the SEC."

In addition to Vanderbilt, Quinn is also being recruited by Wake Forest and East Carolina but does not have offers from those schools. Quinn says Vandy is recruiting him as a receiver and long snapper.
