Profile 2003 - Steven Hogan (TE)

Is Steven Hogan the perfect recruit? He is a versatile big athlete with great academics who can run! Vandy, Stanford and Northwestern are all in the mix for his services.

One of the top prospects from the Big 12 region is Steven Hogan from Houston (Tex.) Strake Jesuit. Hogan is a ‘jack of all trades'. This season, he will play tailback, fullback, tight end, defensive end and middle linebacker. Just yesterday, Hogan measured 6-5 and 240 pounds. He also ran a 4.51 forty.

"I have speed for my size and I am a good athlete," said Hogan. "I have played basketball and lots of other sports my whole life and that has helped me be a good football player."

Hogan also runs the 110 hurdles. Last season he missed 3-4 games with an ankle sprain. Hogan carries a 4.16 grade point average and he has scholarship offers from Texas, Stanford, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Stanford, Florida, Baylor and Arizona.

"There are two schools that I have always wanted to go to - Texas and Stanford. My dad (Patrick) played at Texas and I was raised on Texas football. We have always had season tickets and that school revolves around football. I like the coaches and I am a big fan. I was recently at Stanford and that place is beautiful. I also really like the coaching staff out there. I know I can play earlier at Stanford.

"I want to make a decision before the summer ends. I am also considering Florida but Stanford and Texas are my two favorites. I may camp this summer at Stanford and Florida." Top Stories
