Profile 2003 - Stanley McClover (DL)

Stanley McClover is one of the nation's top defensive line prospects. The senior to be from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High School had an impressive junior year, including 50 tackles for a loss and 20 sacks. Vanderbilt and many others have already offered this fine prospect.

One of the nation's top defensive line prospects is Stanley McClover. McClover plays defensive end for Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High School. He had a super junior campaign, recording 100 tackles including 20 sacks and 50 tackles for a loss. McClover also played offensive tackle where he registered 89 pancake blocks.

"I just try and go out there and work as hard as I can," said McClover. "I hustle on every play and never stop running. I just try and be a force and disrupt everything. I also help others because I want to be the leader."

Colleges have certainly taken notice. According to McClover, he has scholarship offers from Miami, Florida, Auburn, Michigan State, NC State, Missouri, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, UCLA and Purdue.

"I grew up a Miami fan and I was brought up on Hurricane football. They are my number one team.

"I also like Missouri, NC State, Michigan State, Auburn and Florida.

"Academics are very important and so is the school's popularity. I want to play early and contribute. I want to go to a school that I am very found of. I do not want to go too far or be too close to home."

McClover was recently named the MVP of the defensive linemen at the Miami Nike Camp. Speaking of camps, McClover wants to attend the following team camps this summer - Auburn, Georgia, Miami, NC State and Rutgers. He carries a 3.0 GPA and has already scored a 19 ACT. McClover bench presses 375, squats 450 and power cleans 315. Top Stories
