Massey injured a meniscus in one knee during a preseason game and the injury nagged him all season. Later, Massey tore a MCL in the last regular season game and wasn't able to play in the playoff games.

The Gautier Gators advanced to the second round of the Mississippi playoffs before losing 40-24 to Mendenhall.

Massey split time between tight end and wide receiver and played hurt much of the season but felt his personal performance could have been better.

"It wasn't as good of a season as I wanted it to be. I had about 30 catches for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns."

As far as top schools, Massey leading schools haven't changed much in the past few months.

"It's looking like Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Clemson, and Southern Miss are my top schools," said Massey.

Massey did not watch the Vanderbilt-Tennessee game but did see the highlights. Massey has noticed Vanderbilt wide receiver Earl Bennett's performance as a true freshman. "It makes me think I might have a shot to play as a freshman," said the big receiver.

Massey has scheduled visits Ole Miss on December 2; Vanderbilt on December 9; Southern Miss on December 16; and Clemson on January 13.

Massey plans to make his choice after completing his visits. Top Stories
