VU Recruiting Reset: Quarterbacks

With the departure of a All-Everything quarterback Jay Cutler, the Commodore staff is looking to beef up that position. Vandy already has a commit from one of the top quarterbacks in the Midwest. Vanderbilt is believed to be looking for a second signal caller for the class of 2006. Here are some of the quarterbacks that could end up wearing the black and gold.

Jared Funke
3 star prospect who completed 118 of 189 passes for 1,952 yards and 18 touchdowns with only 8 interceptions.  Named his conference's player of the year.  Rated the #56 quarterback prospect nationally by  For more on Funke, see the links below:

The Commodore staff are said to be pursuing one more quarterback verbal.  Here are some of the prep quarterbacks that the Vanderbilt staff have extended a scholarship offer to:
Jeff Panfil (6-6, 195) Selected as his districts Player of the Year.  Has offers from Kansas State, New Mexico State, Purdue and Vandy.  Said to be leaning towards Kansas State at present.  For more on this fine prospect check out the links below:

These quarterbacks have been in contact with the Commodore staff but are not believed to have offers. If Panfil goes elsewhere the Commodore staff might extend an offer to one of these prospects:
