Moore takes temporary medical leave

Vanderbilt Head Coach Kevin Stallings announced Tuesday that senior guard Mario Moore has taken a temporary leave of absence for medical reasons.

"After Saturday's game, Mario met with the athletic training staff," Stallings said. "That led to a follow-up discussion yesterday morning with our medical staff, leading to this point. It is important to note this is not a suspension and not basketball related. This is a temporary leave of absence for medical reasons.

"I ask all Vanderbilt University friends and followers to join with us in support of Mario during this process. We are hopeful he will be able to rejoin the team prior to the conclusion of our season."

In the interest of Moore's right to privacy, members of the Vanderbilt coaching staff and team will not be taking questions regarding Moore's medical issues.

Moore will not be discussing his situation with members of the media during this period.
