Vanderbilt Baseball Week Three Update

The Vanderbilt baseball team finished the week 3-1. Today the Commodores host Creighton at 4 p.m. Read on for this week's notes on the baseball Commodores.

Notes On The Commodores For The Week:

Vanderbilt went 3-1 on the week ... To date five of the Commodores 11 games have been one run games (2-3) ... Outfielder Parker Hanks went 6-for-14 (.462) on the week with two homers and six RBI ... Dominic de la Osa was 5-for-14 with a homer and four RBI ... He hit the second walk-off homer of his career in Saturday's 7-6 win over Ball State ... The Commodore pitching staff continues to excel, sporting a 1.75 ERA over the week with 35 strikeouts and 10 walks in 36.0 innings ... For the season the pitching staff has a 2.71 team ERA with 99 strikeouts and 36 walks in 103.0 innings ... Sophomore David Price struck out 10 batters and walked two in eight innings against Ball State on Friday and now has 29 K's in 19.2 innings this season ... Sophomore Ty Davis picked up two wins on the week and now leads the team with a 3-1 mark ... He started against Murray State on Tuesday and allowed an unearned run in four innings of work with six strikeouts ... Davis notched his second win with 2.2 innings of relief against Ball State on Saturday ... Sophomore Cameron Betourne saw his first action of the season last Tuesday and earned his first career save with five innings of two-hit scoreless relief with eight strikeouts ... Sophomore Cody Crowell picked up his first win of the year with seven innings of shutout baseball on Sunday ... He struck out five and walked only one and lowered his ERA to 1.40 in 19.1 innings pitched this year ... The Commodores have passed the half way point of their 14-game homestand and are 5-3 at Hawkins Field (all three losses have have been by a run)
