Defensive end (6-3, 230, 4.7 forty)

VandyMania: I heard you visited this weekend for the Vanderbilt spring game. What did you think of it?

Brooks Cunningham: The defense is really good there.

VM: So you don't have much good to say about the offense, huh?

BC: Well, the offense, they have some potential but it looks like all the breaks went to the defense, it looked like.

VM: What are some of your biggest strengths as a player?

BC: Definitely my speed and my agility.

VM: What were some of your stats from your junior season?

BC: I had 99 combined tackles, 22 tackles for losses, 11 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. I was selected First Team All-County and Second Team All-Region.

VM: What are you looking for in a school?

BC: Definitely the academics are real important to me. I'd love to be able to help a football team with my abilities. I want to bring something new to a team.

VM: What other schools are talking to you right now?

BC: Georgia invited me to one of their junior days. I got a letter from Penn State. Georgia Tech sends me lots of stuff. Those are the big schools, I guess.

VM: What school do you think you like the most?

BC: Definitely Vanderbilt. I was really impressed by their school. I can't think of too many schools that have a 9:1 student to teacher ratio. Their football program seems to be doing pretty good. I've kept up with them and they seem to be heading in the right direction.

VM: What do you like about Georgia Tech?

BC: It's really close to my hometown and they have really good academics too. I haven't really visited their campus yet but I look forward to it.

VM: Do you have any visits planned there?

BC: On the 15th I'm going to a combine over at Georgia Tech. I'll be able to see what they have over there.

VM: What do you like about Georgia?

BC: Definitely their football history, like all the players that have come out of there. It's also real close to my hometown. Definitely their academics.

VM: How about Penn State, you said you received some mail from them?

BC: Yes sir, Penn State seems pretty good but I haven't really had a chance to do a whole lot of research on them. I want to get to know them a little better before I say too much. I really interested in them.

VM: What team did you grow up rooting for in Georgia?

BC: I grew up rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs. I was a big fan of them. Go Dawgs!

VM: Do you have any other visits planned?

BC: I'm going to a Vanderbilt camp and a Georgia camp over the summer.
