Vandy offers Carolina DE/LB

He had 12 1/2 sacks as a junior. The offers are pouring in and Vanderbilt is one of his favorites. Find out more about this exciting prospect from the Tar Heel State.

While Kevion Latham is an unknown to most who follow recruiting, with seven scholarship offers already on the table he's no stranger to Division I-A coaching staffs.

"I have offers from Vanderbilt, [North] Carolina, Penn State, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Oregon, and Cal," said Latham. "They've all come in the last two months. I got Vanderbilt yesterday and Cal came last week. Carolina was my first one."

Stanford, Virginia, Alabama, and Miami are also recruiting Latham fairly hard, and could join the aforementioned group at any moment.

A hybrid prospect, the only question is where to play the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder at the next level – linebacker or defensive end.

"I play defensive end and outside linebacker [in high school]," said Latham. "I'm getting recruited for both, but mainly defensive end. Coaches are talking to me about both."

With a good core group of options, Latham has established a list of favorites.

"I don't have a leader yet," said Latham. "I have a top five -- in not any order, Vanderbilt, Penn State, [North] Carolina, Stanford, and Georgia Tech. Those are mainly all academic schools and all have good football programs."

During his first year on varsity at Greensboro (N.C.) Page, Latham recorded 12 ½ sacks and was second on the team in tackles, as a junior. He earned second team all-conference recognition for his accomplishments. Top Stories
