Texas DL headed to Vanderbilt

The Vanderbilt staff picked up another commit when big Robert Ashabranner of Cathedral Christian School in Beaumont chose the Commodores. Ashabranner is Vanderbilt's second commit of the 2007 crop.

One sleeper prospect in Texas that you may not have heard much about is Beaumont Cathedral defensive tackle Robert Ashabranner, who recently gave his commitment.

"I committed to Vanderbilt," Ashabranner said. "They had been showing me a lot of interest all along and they told me they were going to offer."

The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Ashabranner received all-district honors as a junior.

"It's a great fit, I liked the coaches there and I know it is one of the top academic schools in the country," Ashabranner said. "I know they play in a great conference and had a good year last year."
