VandyMania's Pete Fox picks this weeks Southeastern Conference football games.

Week 12

(3-2 last week; 70-13 overall)

Frequently in error; never in doubt.

Auburn @ Alabama - The Iron bowl has a little rust around the edges this year. I would expect Auburn, after last week's disaster with Georgia, to be seeking redemption with a win over the Tide. Likewise, the Tide will be seeking redemption for a pretty awful (tide wise) season. Good old-fashioned slobberknocking Southern football.

Auburn 24 - Alabama 20.

Western Carolina @ Florida - This one sure isn't going to help Florida's BCS aspirations. No matter how badly they beat the Catamounts, the strength of schedule is going to go down. Florida 41 - Western Carolina 3.

Louisiana-Monroe @ Kentucky - The Wild cats are riding high after becoming bowl-eligible with their win over Vandy. This week is a tune-up for the season-ender against the Vols. Kentucky 31 - LA-MO 10.

Mississippi @ LSU - LSU tune-up for Arkansas next week. LSU 27 - Mississippi 10.

Arkansas @ Miss. State - Arkansas Tune-up for LSU next week. Arkansas 27 - MSU 10.

MTSU @ South Carolina - MTSU has had some success against the SEC (Vandy, Vandy, Vandy), but the Gamecocks are not Vanderbilt. SC 42 - Middle 12.

UTK @ Vanderbilt - Tennessee staggers into their home away from home at Vanderbilt Stadium reeling from two straight SEC losses, a gimpy starting quarterback, and a raft of misdemeanor charges. Vanderbilt can hardly stagger at all, having shot themselves in the foot multiple times in their last game at Kentucky. VU may have a chance if they can open up the offense, hold on to the ball, and correct the special teams problems. Unfortunately, after 11 games correcting the critical turnover problems doesn't appear to be in the cards. The special teams problems go back several seasons, so that probably won't get fixed in one week either. UTK 31 - VU 19.
