Utah lineman interested in Vandy

Tom Sorensen, 6-3, 280 pound offensive lineman from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton returned home from Colorado's one day camp and said the Buffs made a very nice impression. Vanderbilt may be close to offering this fine prospect.

"I had a great time,"Sorensen said. "The campus is great and I like the coaching staff a lot. They're definitely one of my favorite schools right now."

Sorensen also camped at BYU and Utah winning offensive lineman of the camp honors at both and also took in the Oregon one day camp.

"The four schools I camped at plus Vanderbilt are my favorites right now," Sorensen said. "They all said they would be watching me closely next season to consider offering me a scholarship.

"BYU only has a few scholarships to give out but they said they're very interested. Vanderbilt said they would have offered me if they could have come by my school in the spring. They didn't know I was interested because I never returned their questionnaire but I never got it until after the evaluation period."

Academically, Sorensen is very solid and is carrying a 3.5 GPA and has scored a 20 on the ACT.
