VU threes rain in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO-- (halftime report) Vanderbilt has absolutely dominated the first half of their opening round NCAA game with George Washington. An incredible display of 3-point shooting has led to a Commodore 45-20 halftime lead.

The Commodores 3-point shooting barrage resulted in a stunned reaction from the 17,000 spectators, most of whom are fans of Washington state who is the opponent Vanderbilt will face if they complete the victory today.

Junior Shan Foster got things heated up from 3-point range early on, giving the Commodores an early 3-0 lead just 90 seconds into the game. During the half Vanderbilt made 10-19 from behind the arc including 3 by Foster, 2 by Alex Gordon, 2 by Dan Cage and 1 by Derrick Byars.
