Washington State (26-7) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament by defeating Oral Roberts, 70-54, on Thursday afternoon. The Cougs tough defense that limits opponents to just 59.0 points a game is a primary reason for their success this season. The Cougars also have an offensive punch. Daven Harmeling and Derrick Lowe have each attempted more than 120 3-pointers, making over 40 percent. Kyle Weaver, a 6-6 guard, averages an impressive 11.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and has dished out over 149 assists.
