Matt Caddell, a 5-11, 175-pound receiver from McAdory High School in McCalla, Ala. with 4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash, was present to check out the Commodores up close and in person. Caddell has been rated with four stars from TheInsiders.com. He has been offered scholarships by Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Penn State, South Carolina, and Kentucky in addition to Vanderbilt, according to The Insiders.
Caddell plays both wide receiver and safety for McAdory, which defeated Brookwood 43-0 on Friday night. Caddell had a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown to help the Yellow Jackets to victory.
Ty Hall, a 6-6, 275-pound offensive lineman from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, was also present for Saturday's game. Hall, another recruit rated with four stars by The Insiders, is coveted by Tennessee, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Clemson in addition to Vanderbilt.
Among other visitors for Saturday night's game were Chris Gaunder, a 6-1, 195 running back from Woodstock-Etowah, Ga.; Brad Hall, a 5-8, 150-pound junior quarterback from Norcross-Wesleyan, Ga.; and A. J. Blackburn, a receiver/athlete from local Ezell-Harding.
