Pete's Pigskin Prognostications- Week 4

Big games this week in the SEC including Florida-Tennessee, MSU-Auburn and Vandy-Ole Miss. Pete, who was 9-0 last week, makes his predictions on these matchups and more.

Last Week 9-0: Season 27-3

I suspected Vandy was in trouble when the torrential rains started just a VU started its first offensive series against Auburn. All doubt was erased when the next rays of sunshine shone on the Auburn offense.

And how in the world did South Carolina manage to lose to Georgia. They beat the Dawgs up and down the field.

As usual, I'm just picking winners, the spreads are included for you edification. (Home team Bold type.)

UTK (-4) vs Florida – This game is hard to pick. UTK hasn't been challenged yet, so who knows how they will react to a big game. At home, I favor UTK by 7.

Auburn (+0) vs Mississippi State – Don't see how this is an even game. War Eagles should win by 10.

Georgia vs NorthWestern LA State – Will the sputtering Georgia offense will finally score? Probably a lot. UGA won't need fortuitous fumbles to win 35-3.

Kentucky (-9) vs MTSU - Big Blue vs Little Blue. MTSU has played well against its SEC foes so far, and I'd love to see MTSU win, but the smart money goes with the Wildcats, by about 10.

Alabama (-7) vs Southern Mississippi – Southern Miss has a great reputation of being able to knock off SEC powers, but not this year. Tide by 15.

South Carolina (-14) vs Temple – Finally, someone SC can beat, even if they fumble 10 times. Gamecocks over Owls by 25.

Mississippi (-21) vs Vandy – Heart – "VU has shown improvement every game, and played Auburn close except for gift fumbles. Mind – "VU hasn't covered the short passing game yet. Manning can get 7-10 yards any time he wants them." Mind (and Ole Miss) wins, 28-14.
