Stuart, who earned All-Region honors last season at Oak Ridge, has camped at Tennessee, Kentucky and Middle Tennessee this summer and caught the eye of the coaching staffs, "I did really good; I didn't get beat once in the 1-on-1 drills," said Stuart.
Stuart feels he'll be getting an offer from an SEC school soon; that team is Tennessee, "Tennessee said they were close to offering me," commented Stuart. He continued, "They said they want see how the summer is goes."
Although the 6-foot-4, 285 pound lineman says that Kentucky, Tennessee and Middle Tennessee are recruiting him the hardest he says Vanderbilt contacts him weekly, usually by text messages. Stuart was unable to camp at Vandy this summer because his father was getting married but he did attend Vanderbilt's junior day.
"It was really nice; I liked the atmosphere on the campus. I really liked the offensive line coach [Robbie Caldwell]; he's a good guy," said Stuart.
Stuart, who claims a 5.21 forty speed, says his Oak Ridge team is ready to rumble in the fall, "We are looking really solid. We went down to Tennessee for that 7-on-7 league and we won it all. The secondary is really tough and the offensive line is real big. We probably have our biggest offensive line ever at Oak Ridge."
As for recruiting, even if Stuart gets an offer from Tennessee he'll take his time, "I don't want to commit early. I want to wait a little bit and weigh my options and see what other schools come."
