Nashville, TN – August 6. All nine of the returning Dores and all four coaches participated in the practice. The four incoming freshmen have been on campus since the beginning of the second summer session, but under NCAA rules, they aren't allowed to make the trip. Vanderbilt's Compliance Officer Candice Storey, who stopped by the gym to watch some of the practiced, explained to me that the freshman aren't allowed to participate in the pre-trip practices, either.

There was one new face on the court, however. Assistant Coach Kim Rosamond, the newest addition to the coaching staff, got her first chance to be out on the court with the Vanderbilt players. In this photo, Kim and Vicky Picott, who has been an assistant coach Vanderbilt, are watching the team.

It's a busy week for the players. Beside the pre-trip practices, open gym, and workouts, this is also the last week of summer school - which means that final exams and class projects are all due this week, too.

After practice was over, former Vanderbilt star Dee Davis, stopped by the gym and greeted her former teammates. Dee says that she's planning to play professionally in Serbia this winter.

NASHVILLE, TN – August 8, 2007. Practices continued on Wednesday. As the players are finishing up their summer school classes – some finished on Wednesday and for others, the last day is Thursday – the realization that they're really going to Europe is starting to really sink in.

There was a visitor at today's practice. Brandon Barca, the Director of Online Services and Promotions, interviewed Head Coach Melanie Balcomb before practice and took photos during practice. So check vucommodores.com to see what he's posted there.
