Vanderbilt gets 13th commit

Sources close to VandyMania report that Somerset, Kentucky wide receiver John Cole has committed to Vanderbilt over offers from Stanford, Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky.

Cole becomes the 13th to commit to the Commodores for the 2008 recruiting crop.

As a junior Cole rewrote a pair of Kentucky state records, hauling in 28 touchdowns and 1,891 yards. Cole recorded incredible 86 receptions on offense and five interceptions on defense, totaling 36 touchdowns on the season.

A steller performer in the classroom as well, Cole holds a perfect 4.0 GPA and has scored a 28 on the ACT.

Cole earned First-Team All-State honors as a wide receiver. Also impressive was his recognition as the only underclassman of the 11 Kentucky players named by the Orlando Sentinel to their 2006 All-Southern team.

Commitments are non-binding. National Signing day is in February 2008. Click HERE for a complete list of Vanderbilt commits.
