Merritt Kirchoffer is a bit of a sleeper offensive lineman in Georgia this year, but he shouldn't be because he is an excellent prospect that moves well and has a great frame. At 6-4 and 275 pounds with a 5.3-5.3 forty time, Kirchoffer could play guard or tackle on the next level. He has thick wrists and calves and is very strong with a solid lower body.
Kirchoffer committed to Vanderbilt today, and his family couldn't be happier. "He did commit to Vanderbilt today," said Kirchoffer's mother Joy. "We're really excited. Merritt is just a special kid. He has really surprised us, and we are very proud of him. He's been up to Vanderbilt several times, and everyone up there has been so nice to him. He's met all the players and coaches and really likes it. He's going to get a great education up there as well."
Kirchoffer's Roswell team is off to a 3-1 start and will face a stiff challenge from Lassiter tonight. Roswell star Quarterback Jimmy Barthmaier is questionable for tonight's game, and more of the load will fall on Kirchoffer and the offensive line tonight.
