J2M Stunners- Week 5

J2M presents his Vanderbilt most valuable players for the Vanderbilt-Auburn game. This week Reshard Langford and Steven Stone are honored.

Auburn 35 Vanderbilt 7

Well, when you get beat 35 to 7 you have no MVP. I'm really trying not to be negative. I just can't find an MVP after watching this game for the third time.

Defensive Stunner

#33 Reshard Langford

I had to re-watch this tragedy unfold but I did manage to find a bright spot. Vanderbilt safety Reshard Langford fully belonged on the field Saturday. Langford finished the game with six tackles and contributed to several more. Reshard and the defense never gave up in this one despite the fact that they were outmatched and on the field all day long.

Offensive Stunner

It has become painfully obvious that we have some problems here. Earl Bennett made his first catch with around 3:00 minutes left in the first half at a point where we were already down 28-0. That speaks volumes about the struggles we had on Saturday.

Honorable mention

#96 Steven Stone

DE Steven Stone continues to impress. Stone even had a pass break up this week against Auburn. Stone finished the game with five tackles and one QB hurry to go with his pass breakup.
