Gold rallies, downs Black 6-5

The Gold baseball team rallied for 2 runs in the ninth inning to beat the Black team 6-5 in the second of a three game intra squad series.

Both teams pounded out 11 hits during the game but the score stood at only 1-1 after 6 innings.

The Gold team came up with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Black team responded with one run in the eighth and two runs in the top of the ninth to take a 5-4 lead going into the bottom of the final inning.

Nick Pilkington picked up the win for the Gold to tie the series at 1-1. Worth Scott took the loss for the Black. Scott and Pilkington each pitched less than two innings.

The big hitters for the game were Worth Scott and center fielder Warner Jones for the Black with three hits each. Second baseman Rucker Taylor pounded out three hits for the Gold.

The third and final game of the series will take place on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
