If Steven Christian were to make his final decision today, it would ultimately come down to Nevada and Villanova. Should the Commodores offer him a scholarship, how would this effect his decision? Read inside to . . .

. . . find out as brings you the very latest on Steven Christian's recruitment.

Steven Christian, a 6-0, 175 pound RB/DB who runs a 4.5 in the forty yard dash, has managed to put together quite an interesting list of scholarship offers. As of date, he is currently holding offers from Portland State, San Diego State, Wyoming, TCU, Villanova, Nevada-Reno, Montana, and Stanford. Along with the schools that have offered, Steven has been in contact with several other programs, including the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Steven told that he and Defensive Grad Assistant, Andy Frank have been in contact with one another via telephone. "Coach Frank has been primarily recruiting me as a defensive back," Steven said. "He's been basically saying that they like my athleticism, my height, and my footwork as a DB."

As mentioned before, Steven currently lists Villanova and Nevada-Reno as his top two choices. However, should the Commodores decide to jump on the table by extending him an offer, things could definitely get interesting. "Vanderbilt has not offered me a scholarship yet," Steven said. "But if they do, they would definitely be one of my top choices."

Steven has been keeping close tabs on the Commodores despite residing on the other side of the country. "I've only been able to see one of their games so far this season," Steven said. "It was actually a televised game against Georgia. That was one of their only games on television out here. I really enjoyed watching the game. I really like the whole defensive scheme that they run at Vanderbilt."

While the distance from California to Tennessee may seem like a deterring factor for many athletes, Steven has every intention of making his way across the map to Nashville to check things out up close and personal. However, he is still uncertain of the exact date.

Although Steven has somewhat narrowed down his choices to two programs, he appears to be in no particular hurry to make his final decision. He's simply taking his time because he wants to make sure he finds the perfect environment, and a program that suits all of his criteria. He intends on studying Pre-Med when he gets into college, and his grades are in shape to do so. Steven informed that he is currently holding down a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.

Is there an offer around the corner for the Kennedy High standout? It seems as if it is something he is truly anticipating. Should he receive an offer from Coach Johnson and the staff, will be the first to let you know. So until then, stay tuned for the very latest on Steven Christian's recruitment. Top Stories
