Pete's Pigskin Prognostications

I surprised myself last week by picking 5 of 6. This week should be as good or better, as there is only one game which seems to hang in the balance, and that on isn't really a close pick.

Week 12
(5-1 last week, 68-14 overall)
Frequently in error, never in doubt

For those of you who want to see picks against the spread, go elsewhere. For the rest of you.........

Louisiana Monroe @ Alabama – Breather before the Auburn game. Tide by 42.

Florida Atlantic @ Florida – Breather before the FSU game. Gators by 42.

LSU @ Mississippi – Possibly the SEC's best team against possibly the SEC's worst team. The Rebels being at home should keep this from getting WAY out of hand, but it could get pretty ugly. LSU 45 – Mississippi 17.

Mississippi State @ Arkansas – MSU has played well against supposedly superior foes all year, and has done a very creditable job. This mountain will be just to high to scale, though, being on the road and vs a very good team. Pigs 24 – Dogs 20.

Kentucky @ Georgia – Georgia needs to beat UK this week, and hope UK beats UTK next week to get to the championship game. On the other hand, if Kentucky wins at GA and at home against UTK, there's a 4-way tie at the top. I think this will go Georgia's way. UGA 34 – UK 31.

Vanderbilt @ UTK – Instead of bussing down I-40 for the game in Knoxville, VU has hired a fleet of ambulances to carry the players to Neyland. Tennessee's prowess at home and Vandy's injury situation add up to a long afternoon for the Commodores. Throw in VU's horrible performances on the road against Auburn and Florida, and the pick is UTK 38 – VU13.
