Vanderbilt Remains High on Loftley's List

During our last interview with Chamblee High standout, Taylor Loftley, the 6-2, 250 pound defensive lineman had just narrowed down his choice of programs to three schools. His choices were South Carolina, Duke, and Vanderbilt, respectively. Since then, one other program has been hot on his trail, and may be close to offering.

Should this program offer him a scholarship; could it shake things up within his recruitment?

Taylor Loftley has been extremely busy this fall with football, and gathering information on the three schools of his choice. However, one program in particular has been making a late surge for the talented defensive lineman. "UCF has definitely been coming after me hard lately," Loftley said. "They haven't offered or anything, but they have definitely been showing some strong interest."

In spite of all the attention that Loftley has been gaining from the Golden Knights, he appears to be content with his top three. "Nothing has really changed," Loftley said. "I've just been basically trying to narrow some things down between the three schools. Everything is still basically the same."

Taylor has not taken any of his official visits as of yet. However, he has made his rounds to a couple of games this fall. "South Carolina was the most recent school I visited," Loftley said. "I went to the South Carolina game when they played against Vanderbilt. I also went to a game at Vanderbilt. I went up there when they played against Georgia."

Although Taylor has not set up any officials, he does have in mind where he will be taking at least two of them. One that is for certain will be in Nashville, Tennessee. "I'll probably be going to an official visit to Vanderbilt sometime during the month of January," Loftley said. "I'm not exactly sure of the date, but I think it may be around the 18th. I'll be taking one to South Carolina as well, but I'm not sure when."

When we asked Taylor about his stats on the season, he seemed the least bit concerned in regards to his numbers. "I really haven't been keeping up with my stats that much this year," Loftley said. "I am more concerned about the team more so than my own individual numbers. Our coach is always telling us to focus more on the team."

Loftley doesn't appear to be ready to make his final decision. Right now he merely wants to focus more on taking his team further into the play-offs and possibly a state title. Nevertheless, we are confident that he will make a sound decision when the feeling of certainty strikes him.

Not quite sure how to call this one folks… However, it is yet refreshing to know that we are still in the hunt for Taylor's services. So until then, keep it locked with for the very latest recruiting news on defensive lineman Taylor Loftley.
