Even though it is early in the recruiting season he has already taken in a junior day in South Bend. Matt spoke of his trip to Notre Dame by saying, "It was unbelievable." He doesn't currently have an offer from the Irish, but has been invited to camp this summer.
As far as he experience with Vanderbilt Matt said, "We went up there for the Miami Ohio game and we liked it a lot. If they were to offer at junior day or camp I would seriously consider it."
In fact, as of right now Vanderbilt seems to be in very good shape. Matt said, "I have a high interest for Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech."
Matt discussed what he liked about each school.
Georgia Tech: "It's close to home and I have been to a lot of games. There offense revolves around what I excel at which is run blocking."
Vanderbilt: "I really like the academics of the school and the opportunity I would have coming out of Vanderbilt. Also the SEC and all the big teams I would play. I really like Nashville a lot."
When asked what the biggest strength of his playing abilities Matt didn't hesitate to say, "Definitely my run blocking abilities."
As far as what he will doing to improve. Well he plans to put down a tough regiment for a high school football player. "I'm in the weight room at five o'clock every morning. I'm going to do some speed training and watch more film with my coach." said Matt of getting better for his senior season.
Might he be a possible early commit? Well he definitely has thought about it and said, "I want to find out where I'm going at the beginning of the season."
He is a quality offensive guard prospect and is very high on the Commodores. As of now Vanderbilt has a very good shot to land him if an offer comes through.
