Hillsboro Safety Interested In Vandy

Hillsboro safety, Alex Crutcher, has been enjoying the early attention that he's been receiving on the recruiting front. To be frank, he appears a bit flattered, especially after seeing a couple of letters from Vanderbilt in his mailbox. VandyMania.com caught up with Tennessee prep star to get his early take on the Commodores. Come inside for the latest.

"I've been getting a few letters here and there from Vanderbilt University," Crutcher said. "I'm not sure which assistant coach they've been coming from, but they've been sending me general letters and some information about their football camps."

Out of curiosity, we asked the Hillsboro High speedster to give us a little insight on how he feels about the Commodores early on. "I like Vanderbilt because they are really close to my home," Crutcher said. "I also like Vanderbilt for the type of education that you can get from there. They have a pretty good football program; they are up and coming."

Crutcher currently stands at 6-0, 195 pounds, and reports a 4.45 in the forty yard dash. Last fall as a junior, he recorded over 100 tackles and 5 sacks on the gridiron. In an effort to take his game to a higher level next fall, he has been diligently working on an extensive off-season plan. "I've been working out hard in the weight room," Alex said. "I'm trying to do whatever I can do to get faster and stronger for next season."

We will keep you informed on safety Alex Crutcher as his recruitment continues to unfold, so keep it locked right here.
