Individually, Snedeker climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 in this week's Golfweek/Sagarin Poll after claiming his third consecutive tournament championship with a 12-under-par score of 204 at the Coca-Cola Tennessee Tournament of Champions in Knoxville, Tenn. This tournament title follows his tournament win with a 12-under-par score of 198 at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., and his victory with a nine-under-par score of 135 at the rain-shortened Gary Koch Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla.
In his four tournaments reflected in these rankings, Snedeker is 287-1-1 overall, 7-1-1 versus Top-25 players, 15-1-1 against Top-50 players and 35-1-1 versus Top-100 competition.
Vanderbilt, which remains at No. 25 in the most recent Golf World rankings, wrapped up its fall schedule earlier this week at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif. Snedeker's attempt to win four consecutive tournaments came up four strokes short as he finished third at five-under-par. The Commodores finished fifth in the 18-team field with a 16-over-par score of 880.
Vanderbilt completed the five-tournament fall schedule with top-seven finishes in each event, including the tournament title at the Mason Rudolph Championship. In 14 team rounds this fall, the Commodores compiled a 287 team stroke average and finished below par as a team in three of the five events.
The next action for the Commodores will come February 8-9 when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take part in the Gator Invitational.
