Georgia RB Plans to Camp With Vanderbilt

When we last spoke to RB Cody Getz, the '09 prospect was uncertain about where he would be camping this summer. Now that he's had a little bit of time to think it over, he's decided to camp with a couple of SEC schools, and Vanderbilt will be one of them...

Cody Getz Profile caught up with RB Cody Getz to get the latest on his recruitment. First off, Cody informed us of his first scholarship offer… "I got my first offer a few weeks ago from Air Force," the talented RB from the state of Georgia said. "Actually they sent a letter to my house, and one to my head coach's office. It was a letter from their coach saying that they were offering me a full ride. It felt really good getting that first one out of the way."

With one offer on the table, Cody will be looking to increase that number over the summer, as he plans to camp with a couple of SEC programs. "I am planning on going to the Auburn Camp and the Vanderbilt Camp this summer," Getz said. "I'll be going to both of them sometime in July."

Cody is hoping that his performance at the Vanderbilt Camp would result in a scholarship offer. "Vanderbilt is a really good school," Cody said. "Not only are they a good school from an athletic standpoint, but they're a good school academically. They are definitely one of my top schools."

Cody should have very little problems getting accepted into Vanderbilt as a student-athlete, should they decide to offer him... "I ended up with all A's and one B last year," Cody said. "I took the SAT a couple months ago. I think my score was around a 1630. So, hopefully I'll be in good shape."
