Facilites Upgrades: July 1, 2008

In May, Vanderbilt announced plans for a multi-million dollar upgrade of athletics facilities. On Tuesday afternoon, Whitney D took a look at how the work is progressing and shares these photos

The first stage of the paint job on the outside of the press tower along Natchez Trace is finished, but Vanderbilt's name and logo haven't yet been added.

The brick work on the new facade along Jess Neeley Boulevard is underway.

Changes to the tunnel entrance at the end of the Star Walk are in progress.

The brick work on the new ticket windows next to Gate 3 (the gate closest to Hawkins Field) is well underway.

Here's a closer look at the brick work on the new ticket booth by Gate 3.

Hawkins Field's scoreboard, formerly located between the two light poles and directly above the blue NCAA logo in the fence in right center field, has been taken down to make room for the permanent bleachers. But it hasn't yet been placed in its new location.

New sidewalks have been added to Olin Lawn, the site of special tailgates and receptions on football game days.

Inside Memorial Gym, work has begun on replacing the floor of Ingram Court.
